Mrs. Myneka Everitt, 80, passed away Thursday, June 27 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Preceding her in death are her parents, Rufus Knight and Jessie Belle Knight. Myneka is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles Everitt and her sons, Robbie and Richard (wife Stacy) and grandson Mike (mother Jill) and many cousins.

The family would like to extend our gratitude for great care and concern to Dr. Jimmy Moore and his staff, the nurses and staff at Baptist Hospital, and Hospice Ministries.

A much beloved wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend, Myneka was both surprised and blessed by the outpouring of prayers and concern during her illness. In recent years, she and Charles enjoyed traveling with friends in the RV. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and member of the Caring Sunday School Class and she served in various capacities at Federated Women’s Club.

A memorial service will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Monday, July 1, 2013. Visitation will be Sunday at Ott and Lee from 2 until 5 and again Monday at 10 am with the service following at 11:00. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Washburn and Rev. Dennis Daniels.
