Floyd Woodrow Smith, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. He was born in Lucedale, Mississippi on June 14, 1956 at George County hospital. A native to George County, he moved to Greene County in the year 2000. Funeral services were held Monday, December 14, 2020 at Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church in Leakesville, MS with interment that followed in the Millard Clark Family Cemetery in Leakesville, MS. Visitation was held from 12:00-1:00 pm at the church. Rev. Karl Causey and Rev. Cody Cooley officiated the services.
He attended Mt. Pisgah UPC for seven years and recently moved to Waynesboro UPC to help support his son-in-law and daughter Rev. John and Casandra McKissick. He was first and foremost, a humble and Godly man who loved Jesus Christ and the Word of God. He was a true man of prayer. He loved to preach and spread the gospel to anyone who crossed his path. He was steadfast in his faith and now we know that he is running the streets of gold with his new legs.
He was a loving husband to Breta Clark Smith. They were married on June 9, 1984 and spent 36 years together. He worked as a pipefitter and welder for 16 years. He was a hard worker that liked to stay busy and that didn’t require fancy things.. He loved his animals, farming, working in his greenhouse, and selling vegetables to the public. He was always a shining example to never give up despite your situation. Even from his accident, his wheelchair never kept him down. He loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. He was a great many things to many people. He was a father, a pawpaw, a brother, and a friend. He was an extraordinary man who will forever be missed.
