Shawn Rebekah Gayle

December 7, 1972-June 17, 2020

Shawn was born December 7, 1972 in Clinton, North Carolina. She went to be with the Lord June 17, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was the youngest child and only daughter of John and Peggy Gayle and the beloved sister of Jeff Pace (Beth) and Jim Gayle (Darla).

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Junior and Molly Shows, Russell and Elizabeth Gayle and her father, John. In addition to her brothers and mother, she is survived by her Niece Noe’l Griggs, grandnephew Houston Griggs and nephew, Trenton Gayle.

Shawn had no children of her own but she had many “fur babies”, starting with her cat, Zonker, whom she pushed in a baby doll  stroller when she was four, Gizmo the rabbit, a couple of ferrets, several cats and a mean little dog named Rascal who only loved her and her father.

Visitation will be 10 - 11am Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with the service following at 11am in the Chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Kennedy Springs Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Pearl United Methodist Church or Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
