Stephen Paul “Pap” Morick, age 67, a resident of Morton died Friday February 13, 2015 at the ST. Dominic Hospital in Jackson following a brief illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 am Monday February 16, 2015 from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Visitation was held from 4pm-8pm Sunday February 15, 2015. Private family graveside services were held at 1pm at the Morick Family Cemetery in Meridian. Rev. Gary Glazier officiated.

Mr. Morick was born in Lewisburg, PA on July 19, 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1972. Later moving to Jackson, MS where he was a market manager and later store manager for Kroger. After his retirement from Kroger, he and his family moved to Morton and he opened Pap’s Deer Processing His business was a great success as he was a people person and knew the business very well. He was a member of the Morton United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Carl Henry Ranck and Dorothy Aikey.

“Pap” is survived by his loving wife Janis Blanks Morick, a daughter; Stephanie Grantham (Allen) and his grandson; Dylan Grantham all of Morton. He is also survived by three sisters; Donna Baney, Debra Newman (Dale), Beverly Henninger all of Selinsgrove, PA and three step-brothers; Morris Smith (Sherry) of Knoxville, TN. Bob Smith (Deb) of Danville, PA and Frank Smith of Enola, PA. He also leaves behind seven nephews and three nieces, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Brian Wallace, Trent Smith, Martin Wences, Rick McGee, Andy McGee, Richard Latham, Gary Mitchell and John Roberts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Morton United Methodist Church 29 Second Street Morton, MS 39117.
